What are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
Fine lines under the eyes, Crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles – these are all the dreaded tell-tale signs of aging. However now, thanks to anti-wrinkle injections, you can achieve a well-rested, youthful, and fresh look which is subtle, yet incredibly effective. We can’t stop nor reverse the clock on aging, but we do have the power to slow it down. When injected in small doses into targeted areas, anti-wrinkle injections block the signals between the nerves and the muscles, causing the muscles to relax. They reduce the appearance of lines to produce a look that is fresh, more youthful and, most importantly, natural.
When administered by a medical expert, Botox® as well as other neurotoxins like Xeomin and Dysport can be used safely to treat wrinkles by relaxing muscles that cause the unwanted creases. Our expert medical team strives to enhance your features with the latest techniques and technology. At Dermace Laser Clinic, there is no such thing as a "one size fits all" approach, instead, we tailor each service to our patients, making it also more cost-effective. After all, we want to enhance your unique, beautiful look.
All our treatments begin with a consultation that includes a full facial assessment by our medical director, Dr. Leonardo. After consultation, the treatment itself takes only about 15-20 minutes depending on how many treatment areas are involved. Before leaving the clinic, we provide all our clients with detailed post-treatment care instructions along with complimentary (optional) follow up appointment for assessment two weeks after treatment.
What's the difference between Botox and Fillers?
Botox is a great choice for hitting those "crease points" where muscles contract like the forehead wrinkles and frown lines. It is also used for combating excessive sweating, TMJ, and for improvement of the frequency and intensity of migraines. Fillers, on the other hand, are used to restore facial volume, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and add volume to areas like the lips for rejuvenation.
What is Baby Botox®?
Baby Botox is an injectable treatment similar to traditional Botox, only it uses lower dosage of anti-wrinkle injection.
When should I start Botox?
Although there is no "correct age" to start these types of injections, starting in our 20s and 30s has become increasingly popular. When starting earlier, lower doses can help prevent fine lines from forming while maintaing neutral, age appropriate results that will keep you looking fresh and youthful as you age.
When will I notice results? How long do they last?
It varies by patient, though it usually takes about 3-4 days to notice some changes and 14 days for Botox® to take full effect. The results are subtle and natural looking, allowing for a well-rested and youthful look. Results last for 3-4 months.
What happens if I choose to take a break or stop doing Botox treatments?
If you stop Botox® treatments after it wears off, your appearance will return to its baseline. If however, you discontinue after several years of use, your muscles are better trained to be relaxed, therefore, you will appear a little better than when you originally started. It's also been noted that over time, when patients keep up with their scheduled appointments, the results last longer, and the time between subsequent treatments may be extended.
Are there any side effects of Anti-Wrinkle injections?
Anti-wrinkle injectables are tested in millions of treatments globally and are safe and effective when administered by a doctor who has correct understanding of the underlying facial musculature. Side effects can include minor bruising at the site of the injection, or slight temporary rerdness.
