Lipolysis

Target Stubborn pockets of fat

Lipolysis is a method used to target and reduce localized fat deposits.

WHAT IS LIPOLYSIS?

Lipolysis involves the injection into the mesoderm layer of the skin. Lipolysis injections are commonly used for spot reduction in areas such as the chin (submental fat), abdomen, thighs, and flanks.

Deoxycholic acid is the active ingredient in certain lipolysis injections. It works by disrupting the cell membrane of fat cells, leading to the release of stored fat. Deoxycholic acid disrupts the fat cell membranes, causing them to break down. The released fat is then naturally processed and eliminated by the body's metabolic pathways.

This is one of the most effective non-surgical, cost-effective, fat reducing treatments currently available. Results are usually visible after one treatment, however, ideally three treatments are necessary.

WHO IS AN IDEAL CANDIDATE?

The treatment is intended for patients with localized adipose tissue not responding to diet or increased physical exercise.  The treatment is not intended for weight loss, but it is used to improve and alter the contour of the body.  It is not for use when large amounts of fat are required to be removed.
